Role and Responsibilities

The Surgical Assistant will help surgeons during surgery by performing duties such as tissue retraction, intravenous lines and completing documentation.

  •  Provide concierge level customer service while interacting with patients, referring offices and team members over the phone, in person, or via electronic communication
  • Successfully work individually and/or in a team environment
  • Attention to detail is a must when updating and maintaining patient insurance information
  • Maintains doctor schedule to ensure efficient use of the doctor’s time
  • Partner with clinical team to ensure excellent patient experience
  • Adhere to deadlines and prioritize work against the patient schedule
  • Collect payments from patients in an effective and professional manner
  • Ability to understand doctor treatment recommendations and develop treatment plan from the diagnosis
  • Ability to effectively communicate treatment options and associate costs to the patient
  • Understanding of dental terminology is necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year customer service experience required
  • Medical or dental experience preferred
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required
